Personal Shadow Work Coaching

Shadow Work® coaching provides an opportunity for you to do Shadow Work in a one-on-one setting with a trained Shadow Work coach. Some people choose coaching because it offers more privacy than a group situation and offers the advantage that you can work at your own pace.

A coaching session can be either a half day (approx. 2-3 hours) or a full day (approx. 6 hours.) We start by exploring what you want to accomplish relative to your issue and then look at what the risks might be for getting what you want, i.e. what is standing in the way of getting what you want. Often the changes we want come with a price, and if we don't identify and explore the risks involved to decide whether it's worth taking those risks or not, our subconscious will resist the change we're trying to make. A good deal of the coaching session is spent exploring what the different "voices", or parts are inside you around your issue. For example, if you want to work on a problematic relationship you have with someone, you could have a lot of conflicting feelings about the relationship, and these might appear as different parts of yourself, such as: a part of you that wants the relationship to be better; a part of you that's angry with the person; a part of you that doesn't believe the relationship will ever actually change; a part of you that feels guilty about how you've treated the person in the past; a part of you that believes you'll never be able to stand up to the person; a part of you that was hurt by the person and doesn't want to risk getting hurt by them again, etc.

By teasing out each conflicting perspective in the coaching session and giving it a voice, you can gain clarity on what's really involved in the issue and what course of action is the best one to take. Once these different "parts" of you become clear, the Shadow Work coach can lead you through a dynamic process for deep, inner transformation around the issue.

Maybe you'll do a process in which you finally let go of something that you've been holding on to, that isn't serving you any more. Or maybe you'll do a process in which you stand up for yourself in a way that you've never been able to do before, or maybe you'll do a process that involves listening to what the wise, knowing part of you tells you to do, etc.

Unlike life coaching or counseling, which usually involve several one-hour sessions spread over time, Shadow Work coaching is so powerful that only one session is usually all that people need to resolve a particular issue and make a significant shift around it.
